NATALIE project was presented to stakeholders of Zemgale Region

Last week the NATALIE project (Accelerating and mainstreaming transformative nature-based solutions to enhance resilience to climate change for diverse bio-geographical European regions) was presented to a close and engaged group of stakeholders on Climate, Energy and Environment Working Group meeting.

The event was organized by the Zemgale Planning Region in cooperation with the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies and the Baltic Environmental Forum, bringing together regional and municipal representatives and policymakers (focus group).

The concept of nature-based solutions, their adaptation to local communities, and benefits for society and the environment were central themes of this meeting. 

Presentations and discussions with stakeholders were targeted to these topics:

  • Introduction to the NATALIE project, the role of the Zemgale Planning Region, and the involvement of local municipalities;
  • Constructed wetlands, main principles, and technical requirements;
  • Erection of constructed wetlands in the Zemgale Region – financial conditions and administrative issues.
